Family Law Associate AttorneySalary:
$120k - $150k base salary
Location:
Granbury, TX -- Hybrid option
Requirements:
2+ Year of Family Law exp. + JDPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join our firm. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality legal representation to clients in matters including divorce, child custody and support, adoption, and related family law issues. This role involves litigation, negotiation, drafting pleadings and agreements, client counseling, and collaboration with colleagues and outside professionals to achieve excellent outcomes for clients while maintaining the firms commitment to ethical practice and client service.

Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in family law matters including divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, adoption, and related issues in court and at settlement conferences.

Prepare, draft and file pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.

Conduct factual and legal research, analyze complex issues, and develop case strategies tailored to each clients goals.

Manage a caseload from intake through resolutionmaintain organized case files, meet deadlines, and provide timely client updates.

Advise and counsel clients on legal options, likely outcomes, and procedural steps while maintaining sensitivity to emotional and practical concerns.

Develop and execute negotiation strategies to resolve disputes favorably where appropriate; prepare for and conduct trials when necessary.

Coordinate with experts, mediators, guardians ad litem, financial professionals, and support staff to prepare evidence and testimony.

Represent the firm at hearings, pre-trial conferences, trials, and appellate matters as needed.

Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and paralegals; contribute to business development and community outreach initiatives as appropriate.

QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active membership in the state bar and eligibility to practice law in this jurisdiction.

Previous experience practicing family law, including courtroom and litigation experience; typically 3+ years of relevant experience preferred (open to mid-level and senior candidates).Demonstrated skills in legal research, writing, and drafting of pleadings, agreements, and court documents.

Strong negotiation and advocacy skills with proven experience representing clients in hearings and trials.

Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize deadlines, and maintain meticulous case files.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to counsel clients compassionately and clearly under stressful circumstances.

High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to client confidentiality.
Nice-to-have:
direct experience with trials, adoption cases, custody disputes, divorce proceedings, estate planning matters, and advanced drafting skills.
