Job Description

The City of Gunter, Texas, is seeking statements of interest from qualified attorneys or law firms to serve as City Attorney and provide legal services to the City. The selected attorney or firm will provide legal counsel to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, boards and commissions, and City staff, including representation and advice regarding municipal law, contracts, land use and development, public information and open meetings compliance, employment matters, ordinance preparation and enforcement, litigation management, and other matters as requested. Interested attorneys or firms should submit: A letter expressing interest in serving as City Attorney; A description of municipal law experience; Qualifications of attorneys who would provide services; References from current or former municipal clients; Proposed fee structure or billing rates.
