P Job Description:
The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking an Employment Immigration Specialist to support the University's employment-based immigration program within the Human Resources department. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-volume, compliance-driven environment that supports the recruitment and retention of international talent. Depending on experience and demonstrated proficiency, this role may be filled at the Immigration Specialist I or II level. Candidates will support or independently manage employment-based immigration cases, including full in-house preparation and filing of H-1B petitions, and will collaborate with campus stakeholders, foreign nationals, and external counsel, as applicable, to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant case processing. The Employment Immigration Specialist I works under direct supervision and will build and apply foundational knowledge of employment-based immigration through hands-on case support and guided experience. The Employment Immigration Specialist II works independently and requires ownership of complex cases, application of regulatory knowledge, and the ability to provide guidance to departments and foreign nationals. The Immigration Specialists work directly with external immigration counsel on select case types, including employment-based permanent residency and other specialized petitions, while maintaining responsibility for institutional case preparation and compliance processes. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a commitment to compliance, accuracy, and professional communication in support of institutional immigration processes.
