Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Attorney with 2-3 years of litigation experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a diverse caseload involving personal injury, premises liability, construction defect, transportation, or general liability matters and will work closely with partners and clients throughout all phases of litigation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage an assigned caseload from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents. Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and case evaluations. Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances. Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts. Communicate regularly with clients, claims adjusters, opposing counsel, and experts regarding case status and strategy. Prepare reports to insurance carriers and clients regarding liability, damages, and litigation exposure. Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations. Assist with trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings as needed. Maintain accurate billing records and comply with applicable deadlines and client guidelines. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. Two to three years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense. Experience handling written discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances. Strong analytical, research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to independently manage cases while collaborating effectively with partners and support staff. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research platforms, and case management software. Preferred Qualifications Experience with bodily injury, premises liability, trucking, or construction litigation. Trial experience or second-chair trial experience. Familiarity with electronic filing systems and litigation management software. Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
