This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, confident in communication, and enjoys advocating for others. The Negotiator plays a critical role in helping injured clients move their cases toward resolution by working directly with insurance companies, clients, medical providers, and attorneys throughout the settlement process. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Negotiator is responsible for managing and resolving pre-litigation and litigation claims on behalf of the firm's clients. This role works closely with attorneys and legal staff to advance settlement negotiations in personal injury matters, with a focus on maximizing client recovery while maintaining efficient case progression.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with the Attorney & File Resolution Coordinator to identify pending settlements that need to be negotiated Conduct settlement negotiations with insurance adjusters and defense counsel on assigned personal injury matters Review and analyze medical records, bills, and related documents to accurately assess claim value Negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of clients Communicate effectively with clients regarding the status of their negotiations and settlement offers Coordinate with supervising attorneys to develop negotiation strategies and obtain approval on settlement decisions Document all negotiation activity and communications accurately within the firm's case management system (Neos) Partner with Paralegals on pending demands and maintain organized tracking of outstanding negotiations Collaborate with pre-litigation and litigation teams to ensure seamless case handling
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in personal injury claims negotiation, insurance, or a related legal environment Strong working knowledge of personal injury claims, insurance coverage, and valuation principles Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated negotiation ability Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet deadlines Proficiency with case management software; experience with Neos is a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus What We Offer Flexible part-time schedule Opportunity for long-term growth and potential full-time employment Supportive and team-oriented environment Meaningful work helping clients through difficult situations Hands-on experience within a growing personal injury law firm Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and relevant legal or negotiation experience.
