Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Deputy Prosecuting Attorney II to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, providing expert legal counsel, and representing the state in a variety of criminal and civil proceedings. Your expertise will help ensure justice is served efficiently and ethically, while supporting the community's safety and well-being. Responsibilities Prepare and prosecute criminal cases, including felonies, misdemeanors, and juvenile offenses, ensuring adherence to legal standards and procedural rules. Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategy and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and sentencing recommendations with clarity and precision. Negotiate plea agreements and settlement terms that serve the best interests of justice while safeguarding public safety. Represent the prosecution in court hearings, trials, sentencing hearings, and appellate proceedings with professionalism and confidence. Maintain meticulous case records and documentation in accordance with legal administrative standards. Skills Extensive knowledge of criminal law. Proficiency in legal research platforms including LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather pertinent case laws and statutes efficiently. Strong negotiation skills to facilitate plea bargaining and dispute resolution effectively. Excellent writing skills for preparing comprehensive legal documents that are clear and persuasive. Demonstrated experience in a Law office environment with solid legal administrative skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously. Ability to interpret complex laws and regulations accurately while providing sound legal advice across diverse practice areas. Exceptional research abilities combined with analytical thinking to develop strategic case approaches. Pay:
$91,044.00 - $116,340.00 per year
