Full Job Description Benefits:
Paid time off Associate Attorney I.C. Amadioha Law Firm We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our child welfare practice which entail representing children, and parents, respectfully, as they navigate the juvenile dependency system. The ideal candidate should possess some experience in child welfare law, but we are willing to train. This role requires excellent legal research and drafting skills, as well as the ability to litigate effectively on behalf of our clients, including trials. Key Responsibilities Represent clients through all phases of child welfare proceedings, including shelter-care hearings, disposition hearings, review hearings, permanency planning hearings, and trials for termination of parental rights. Meet regularly with children, and parents, as the case may be, in developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed ways. Draft pleadings, motions, trial briefs, and engage in discovery process. Communicate, and collaborate with DCFY to ensure efficient, and expedient case resolution. Willing to travel to clients' locations for in-person visits, and meetings. Bar Admission Active admission and in good standing with the Washington state Bar (or eligible to be admitted soon) Physical and Travel Requirements Must be willing to travel to various court locations, and out-of-office client meetings (e.g. foster homes, schools, detention facilities)
