Job Description

Job Summary English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley, LLP is seeking a highly organized and dependable Staff Assistant to support attorneys and staff in various areas across the firm. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage a high-volume workload, and a strong commitment to client service and confidentiality. The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, and able to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple priorities. Duties
    Administrative:
    Perform clerical tasks including filing, scanning, copying, mailing, transcribing, and proofreading.
      Operations:
      Handle invoice payments, client recognition mailings, and coordination of meetings or lunches.
        Records Management:
        Maintain organized paper and electronic filing systems; handle data entry and ensure accurate record-keeping.
          Legal Support:
          Draft, format, and file legal documents and correspondence; organize case files and summarize or locate case-relevant information.
            Logistics:
            Arrange delivery of legal correspondence to clients and courts, recognizing task urgency; assist with calendar management and scheduling.
              Communication:
              Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and third parties; handle inquiries promptly to ensure positive interactions.
                Confidentiality:
                Handle sensitive information with strict discretion and good judgment. Qualifications
                • Prior law office or administrative experience preferred but not required
                • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
                • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
                • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
                • Basic knowledge of legal software (e.g., NetDocs, Juris Suite, Needles, Nitro Pro) preferred but not required.
                • Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements
                • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks (typing, scanning).
                • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.
                Environment Professional, fast-paced office setting with frequent interaction with attorneys, staff, and clients.

                From $16.00 per hour
