Educational requirements: graduation from an accredited community college or associate degree in business administration, administrative assistant, legal assistant, or related field. • Two years of related job experience may be substituted for each year of required education. Must be proficient with or have the ability to quickly gain proficiency with the State of Michigan's IV-D software. Responsible for docket management; maintains schedule for Wexford & Missaukee Counties for all arraignments/show causes/support enforcement. Monitors approximately 4,000 active support cases. Prepares files for show cause in both Wexford & Missaukee Counties. Meets with clients for information to meet statutory requirements for support collection. Attends show cause meetings and makes sound judgements; proposes options for continued collection of support. Prepares show cause orders, bench warrants, and adjournments. Schedules cases before family court judges. Secures financial, income, and employment information; analyzes collectability. Uses knowledge of modern office methods, practices, and techniques daily. Works effectively with the public, clients, court staff, and all employees. Proven experience in support enforcement or collections, with a strong understanding of workers' compensation law preferred. Demonstrated expertise in fraud prevention and detection techniques within financial or legal contexts. Skilled in auto estimating processes or similar analytical tools that enhance case resolution efficiency. Excellent negotiation skills combined with outstanding customer service abilities to manage sensitive cases diplomatically. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and legal documentation accurately. Exceptional organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with financial software systems used in support enforcement or related fields is highly desirable.
