Yes Percentage of time that could be remote (0-100%): 100% Method to assess remote work: Graduate Writing Support Assistants are mandated to attend weekly meetings with Writing Support Leadership where they are assigned various administrative tasks and projects that support the AU Writing Support Department and AU student body. Because these tasks and projects are student impacting, they are monitored heavily by WS Leadership for progress, compliance, and completion. Job Description The Antioch University student experience is writing-intensive and students are often expected to write in a variety of genres from critical reflections to more formal research papers. The Writing Support Department encourages students to seek writing support services at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming and organization to polishing drafts, citation formatting (e.g., APA, MLA), slide presentations and more. Students can work synchronously in one-on-one Zoom sessions with Professional and Peer Writing Specialists, or asynchronously by submitting a paper for written feedback from a Peer Writing Specialist. Writing Support also offers fee-based writing and coaching services to support doctoral students through the various phases of dissertation writing and preparation for publication. The Graduate Writing Support Assistant position provides direct support to the Writing Support Director and Leadership team members, as well as students, faculty and staff. These positions are best suited for students with at least two years left in their program. Responsibilities and roles listed below will be divided between two Graduate Writing Support Assistants based on the availability and experience, students need not have experience in all areas below to apply. Provide clerical support for Director of Writing Support & other WS Leadership including but not limited to managing department email, communicating with university students, faculty and staff. Coordinate and monitor asynchronous and synchronous tutoring schedules workshop schedules Coordinate and schedules workshop; create workshop marketing campaigns, coordinate registration links; communicate with workshop facilitators Maintain client reports Create databases and spreadsheets related to Writing Support special projects Support evaluation of tutoring effectiveness Qualifications Graduate Writing Support Assistants should have proficiency in writing and facility with online communication. Graduate Writing Support Assistants should be effective communicators and enthusiastic partners interested in supporting other students growth as writers. As all Writing Support work is virtual, Graduate Writing Support Assistants must have a strong self-directed work ethic and be able to regularly schedule and fulfill their assigned responsibilities. The ability to work as part of a team and communicate well with Writing Support leadership is crucial. Prior experience with Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, WordPress, MS Word and aptitude for technology are required to complete many required job tasks and projects. Most importantly, Writing Support seeks individuals who are reflective and collaborative, able to accept and utilize feedback, and eager to grow and develop their own skills.
