Paralegal Certificate Full Job Description Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Legal Specialist to join our Legal team and support litigation and compliance work that enables our business to operate responsibly and ethically. This role reports to the Deputy General Counsel - Litigation & Compliance and plays a key part in managing litigation matters and supporting REI's compliance program. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced paralegal professional who enjoys working independently, building cross-functional relationships, and contributing to a purpose-driven organization.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities Litigation & Legal Support Draft and respond to demand letters and pre-litigation correspondence with limited supervision Manage legal holds, subpoenas, and discovery processes to ensure compliance with legal obligations Coordinate with and provide oversight of outside counsel on litigation and employment-related matters Maintain litigation calendars, deadlines, and case workflows, including discovery, document production, and deposition preparation Review, analyze, and summarize legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence Prepare case summaries, reports, and litigation updates for internal partners Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise summaries of findings Compliance & Program Support Support the development and execution of REI's compliance program, including policies, procedures, and communications Monitor regulatory and industry developments to help maintain compliance with applicable laws and standards Assist with internal audits, investigations, and responses to compliance inquiries, identifying potential risks and gaps Draft and review compliance-related materials, including training content and guidance documents Partner across teams—including HR, Operations, Merchandising, and Marketing—to support compliance alignment Support compliance committee activities, including preparing agendas and materials Qualifications 7+ years of paralegal experience, including significant work in litigation and compliance Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and certification (e.g., ABA-approved paralegal certificate) Strong knowledge of litigation processes, civil procedure, and regulatory frameworks Experience managing outside counsel and supporting litigation budgets Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience with legal systems and tools (e.g., matter management, document management, Microsoft Office) Experience in retail, consumer, or related industries is a plus What You'll Bring Sound judgment and the ability to work independently A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships across teams A high level of integrity and professionalism Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Base Pay Range:
$85,400.00 - $136,700.00 per year
