There are multiple vacancies for the Office Specialist II position with the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney's office. The Office Specialist II with the Prosecuting Attorney's office performs specialized office support, activities involving creating, maintaining, processing, recording, accessing, analyzing data and releasing documents, files and other information which is governed by strict laws, rules and regulations. Data entry into confidential databases. In the criminal division, reviews case files for potential conflicts of interest; analyze and image police reports, evidence and legal documents for internal system and distribution to defense counsel; coordinate imaging workflow issues with internal and external departments and law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, defense attorneys and paralegals. Essential Duties:
Creates legal documents as needed by attorneys for court. Creates, summarizes, edits and/or distributes a variety of documents such as summons, information, judgments and sentences, court ordered sentence modifications; filing. Updates forms as needed. Performs research in specialized computer systems and prepares related legal documents and reports. Creates and maintains complex files and databases such as official records or legal case files. Maintains filing systems in accordance with established procedures. Provides assistance to the general public and other law and justice agencies. Provides assistance and responds to other support staff regarding procedures and policies to ensure compliance with governing laws, rules, regulations and standards. Other duties as required.Education and Experience:
High School Diploma orG.E.D AND
four (4) years of general office experience OR Any equivalent combination of higher education and applicable experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.Required:
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation, fingerprinting, and general employment verification.Preferred:
Legal or Court experience;Bilingual English/Spanish Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, typewriter, printers, copy machine, E-Mail, fax, calculator, transcriber, voice mail and other general office equipment.Working Conditions:
