The Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, security, and compliance of the retail location, ensuring a secure environment for employees, customers, and company assets. This is an unarmed position responsible for monitoring premises, enforcing company policies, and supporting regulatory compliance requirements. While primarily focused on security and loss prevention, this role also contributes to a positive guest experience through professional presence, awareness, and appropriate customer interaction.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(this list is not all inclusive) Maintains a safe and secure environment for employees and customers by patrolling premises and monitoring activities. Monitors surveillance systems and observes suspicious or unlawful behavior; responds appropriately to incidents. Controls access to the premises by verifying identification, permitting entry, and enforcing access protocols. Performs routine perimeter checks and inspections of buildings, equipment, and access points. Prevents loss and damage by enforcing company policies and procedures and addressing violations in a professional manner. Documents incidents, observations, and activities through accurate and timely report writing. Responds to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies, escalating to management or law enforcement as appropriate. Ensures compliance with all company safety, security, and regulatory requirements, including state and local cannabis regulations. Supports store operations by maintaining order, assisting with crowd control, and reinforcing a safe retail environment. Provides professional and courteous interaction with customers, contributing to a welcoming and controlled entry experience. Coordinates with local law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. Maintains awareness of daily operational priorities, including store policies, procedures, and compliance expectations. Upholds company standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct at all times. Executes ad hoc projects as assigned by direct supervisor.CORE COMPETENCIES

Understands and adheres to California DCC regulations, including purchase limits, ID verification, and recordkeeping. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and work effectively across various sectors of the department as needed or requested by a direct supervisor. This includes the capacity to support other departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and responsiveness to organizational needs.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED Must have active and valid guard card. Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred but not required.
