Job Overview Join our team as an Unarmed Gate Checker, where you will play a vital role in maintaining a secure and safe environment at our facility. This on-call, as-needed position offers an energetic and proactive approach to security, ensuring smooth access control and safety protocols are upheld. Your keen observation skills and commitment to safety will help prevent loss, manage conflicts, and support overall site security through vigilant surveillance and effective communication. Responsibilities Be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the State. Be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States. Must provide a background check upon hire Must be able to learn the check-in/check-out process, dealing with logistics Must submit to pre-job and random drug testing. Must be able to self-manage Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written Must have excellent report writing skills Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing. Must be able to work various shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to stand, stoop, and bend for long periods of time. Work in all weather conditions Basic ability to use a computer or Tablet Use motor vehicles and foot patrols to monitor client property Maintain access control at entry points, permitting only authorized persons to enter/exit client facility Must check all personal vehicles that enter and exit the property Follow all client and company policies Monitor and control access points by checking credentials of visitors, contractors, and employees to ensure authorized entry. Respond promptly to incidents or conflicts by applying conflict management techniques, ensuring safety for all individuals involved. Support loss prevention efforts through vigilant observation, CCTV monitoring, and reporting suspicious activities or theft attempts. Maintain detailed logs of access activities, incident reports, and surveillance footage for record-keeping and future reference. Experience Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable. Prior experience in logistics is a plus Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras and monitoring software enhances effectiveness in this role. Strong observational skills with attention to detail in monitoring for loss prevention or suspicious activity. Excellent communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and effectively managing conflicts professionally.
