Job Description
Part Time, Nonexempt Hourly $17.50-$22.50 Reports to:
Facilities and Asset Protection Manager Directs Reports:
None Our Asset Protection Associates are primarily responsible for the safety and security of the museum's assets. Working as a team member under the guidance and supervision of the Facilities and Asset Protection Manager, Asset Protection Associates are tasked to ensure the museum galleries, grounds and related public spaces are safe and secure.Responsibilities may include:
Safety and Security (80%) Ensure the highest level of safety and security for all of the museum's visitors and staff (paid and volunteer roles) as well as the physical assets the museum manages, including (artwork, indoor and outdoor facilities, furnitures and fixtures). Routine and timely daily patrols of all public spaces to prevent vandalism, disturbances, and generally maintain a stable and secure environment at the museum. Maintain a visual inventory of the artwork and the physical structure in the galleries and across the campus. Report any incidents involving any security breaches, damage to artwork, suspicious activity, or safety hazards following protocol set by the Facilities and Asset Protection Manager. Assist museum patrons with directions, general inquiries and museum guidelines. Provide assistance to patrons in the event of an emergency, weather incidents or security breaches. Participate in assigned training opportunities that ensure consistent and compliance with safety standards and expectations for the Asset Protection team. Facilities Care and Stewardship (15%) Ensure the galleries and public areas are secure, clean and ready to ensure all facility visitors and users have a safe and enjoyable experience Report gallery and facility needs to the Facilities and Asset Protection Manager As directed by the Facilities and Asset Protection Manager, pursue daily maintenance of light facility tasks Other (5%) Be a positive MMAM representative in all interactions with all visitors. Maintain a consistent look and dress code as directed by the Facilities and Asset Protection Manager to be easily identified as an Asset Protection Associate for visitors and staff. Attend required training sessions and team meetings. Provide daily reports as directed by the Facilities and Asset Protection Manager You'll likely demonstrate: High school diploma or equivalent. Readiness to comprehend and implement security procedures. Excellent attendance, reliability and punctuality. Aptitude to move for extended periods of time and remain alert at all times. Professional demeanor and obligation to the museum, security policies, and procedures. Experience working with the public and diverse audiences Strong communication and personable customer service know-how. Aptitude to work a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends) in a structured environment. Proven knowledge of how to work with a wide range of personalities and people across a variety of generations. Must successfully fulfill background requirements upon hire and maintain a satisfactory criminal record during employment. Strong customer service orientation strongly preferred. Previous museum or gallery experience is a plus. Language familiarity other than English is a plus.Position Specifics:
