GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Operates under the direction and policy of the Loss Prevention department and demonstrates uncompromising integrity, fair treatment of others, and professional conduct at all times. Owns shrink and safety results for assigned location(s); detect, apprehend, and deter customer and employee activity that may result in a loss of company assets; promote and monitor compliance of company policies and procedures related to theft prevention, safety, and inventory control; promote Loss Prevention and safety awareness and training. Support the inventory process through interactions with management and store employees - including random audits, inspections, investigations, video review, and vendor compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote a culture of safety, to include LP best practices Detect, investigate, and successfully resolve internal and external dishonesty Recover assets and make apprehensions in accordance with company policies Ensure proper operation/maintenance of CCTV equipment Write reports, maintain records, and retain evidence accurately, completely, and in a timely manner Act as liaison between company location(s) and the criminal justice community Represent Grange Co-op with a professional appearance and demeanor Communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, suspected shoplifters, and authorities Prepare and present documents to local authorities Testify in court to the events of an investigation, as necessary Maintain required documents, reports, logs, evidence, and files in various media Monitor assigned location(s) to ensure a safe environment and report exceptions appropriately Maintain and appropriately communicate confidential information regarding investigations Travel to company location(s) as assigned Demonstrate regular, predictable attendance Demonstrate dependability, reliability, punctuality Attend company-provided, and non-provided, training programs, seminars, or conferences Work assigned and varying shifts Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 6
months - 1 year Retail Loss Prevention experience preferred High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Applicants with Criminal Justice, Applied Science or greater education are encouraged to apply
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions
OTHER SKILLS AND/OR ATTRIBUTES
Must be 18 years of age or older Must become DPSST certified in Oregon as an Unarmed Professional Ability to complete and pass all required loss prevention/security training Knowledge of computer systems for data entry, report writing, email, and other basic functions Ability to work within company guidelines on all instances of theft, safety, or security situations Ability to accurately and completely recall and record details and events of situations that occur Possess a basic understanding of CCTV systems including how to record, review, and copy video Ability to make decisions in stressful situations Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and use time efficiently Sense of urgency towards work requirements and responsibilities Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply! The pay range for this role is: 18.87 - 23.06 USD per hour(Grants Pass)
