Cellular Sales Loss Prevention Investigator Classification Exempt Reports to Loss Prevention Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective The Loss Prevention Investigator is part of an ever-changing environment who is responsible for partnering with store operational teams and LP Management to identify and deter external and internal dishonesty. Investigators use analytical data and reporting, evidence gathering, CCTV video surveillance, interviews, and law enforcement collaboration to resolve incidents and build solid cases. Essential Functions Investigate and identify dishonest personnel within the company. Investigate deceptive behaviors. Conduct internal misappropriation investigations. Initiate investigations on vendor theft, employee theft and inventory shrink. Execute and implement shrink reduction procedures. Interview witnesses and suspects and develop detailed reports on all conducted investigations. Actively support law enforcement with prosecutions and investigations to solve incidents of theft, fraud and Organized Retail Crimes. Effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing with the members of management related to investigations Accurately complete incident reports and maintain organized records for legal proceedings. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to perform repetitious hand/eye movement, Must be able to sit for long periods Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Must have reliable transportation This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel 0 - 10% Travel Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED 2 Year Degree Preferred Experience 2 Year degree 2 years' experience within a Loss Prevention and/or Security department. 2 years retail sales operations. Wicklander/Zulawski (WZ) Interview/Interrogation certification a plus. Excellent communication skills in person, via email and on the telephone. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook. Ability to maintain the utmost level of confidentiality and discretion. Candidates must be able to utilize good, sound judgement and tact. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize those tasks accordingly.
