The Senior Loss Prevention (LP) Investigator is responsible for driving shrink reduction through the successful investigation, documentation, and completion of internal/external theft cases, and loss related training/compliance issues within the Company. This position also fosters positive relationships with all departments within the Company to drive shrink awareness, shrink reduction, safety, and overall positive results. Works closely with Field Staff, Store Support Center Staff, and Store Operations to protect all company assets.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train and assist in onboarding new Loss Prevention Investigators to fulfill specific needs and maintain or improve job skills.
- Support other LP Investigators by reviewing active cases and providing Senior level input.
- Work regularly with IT partners to maintain the efficiency of reporting tools and resolve errors found in a timely manner. Validate register functions, ensure data accuracy, and communicate findings to drive best practices.
- Review Exception-Based Reporting and utilize all tools and resources provided to uncover evidence of loss to deliver high-quality internal and external cases.
- Build and complete accurate, well-timed, and high-quality case reports according to departmental and company standards.
- Coordinate and conduct interviews with Associates involving integrity, theft, and violations of Company policy.
- Assist and support other LP Staff in developing internal/external investigations/cases.
- Provide data, information, support, education, and training to LP Field Teams for many aspects of their roles including investigations, case management, exception-based reporting, audits, etc. Complete various audits, assist in monitoring specific operational standards, and review results with LP Staff and key business partners from all departments within the Company.
- Partner with all Field and Store Support Center (SSC) Leaders to investigate internal/external incidents and help develop preventative measures that will reduce the frequency of negative events and loss.
- Assist with Risk or Safety claims investigations as needed.
- Participate in inventory preparation and observation as needed.
- Provide Company representation at court proceedings as needed.
- Maintain library of reports, documents, templates, instructions, or other reusable knowledge assets.
- Support various LP programs, initiatives, and special projects to assist the LP Team in delivering on overall Company goals and objectives.
- Perform any other duties or special projects assigned by the Sr.
LP. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A High School diploma or GED equivalency is required. Advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in a retail Loss Prevention environment is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Wicklander-Zulawski Interviewing Certificate is required.
- CFI (Certified Forensic Interviewer) or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certifications are preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of current Loss Prevention industry trends and best practices. Knowledge of computers, loss prevention tools, and technology (MS Office, case management software, exception-based reporting software, POS, CCTV, Kronos, etc.). Personal credibility and integrity, with the ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality in all matters.
- Ability to professionally conduct investigations, interviews, interrogations, and case management.
- Ability to learn new LP software programs and technology.
- Ability to effectively communicate information verbally and in writing with key business partners around investigations and audits to help reduce shrink/loss or provide awareness around LP related issues.
- Ability to travel as needed and manage personal travel and expenses to comply with the established budgets set for the LP Department.
