Job Description

Overview I am seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join my legal team. The ideal candidate will be energized by fast-paced environments, possess strong organizational skills, and demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional legal administrative support. You will play a vital role in managing legal documents, conducting research, and assisting me to ensure smooth case progression and compliance with legal standards. Duties Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to gather relevant case law and statutes. Prepare and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence with meticulous proofreading and attention to detail. Manage case files using document management systems like MyCase and Claude; ensure accurate filing, data entry, and document review for ongoing litigation. Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, tracking case progress, and maintaining an organized schedule. Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones with professional etiquette, managing calendars, scheduling meetings or court appearances, and providing executive administrative support when needed. Requirements Proven paralegal experience Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; ability to efficiently locate relevant case law and statutes. Experience with document management systems; capable of organizing large volumes of files accurately. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good writing skills for drafting memos, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence that are clear and professional Proficiency in legal administrative tasks such as data entry, filing systems management, transcription services, proofreading documents, and maintaining confidentiality. Exceptional phone etiquette combined with excellent organizational abilities to support attorneys' administrative needs. Knowledge of project management principles within a law office setting; ability to coordinate multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat, including Excel, Word, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar, PDF document management, and other office technology platforms, with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
