Job Description

Our highly regarded Salt Lake City law firm is looking to hire a family-law legal assistant to join our team. We have been providing exceptional legal representation for over 75 years in many practice areas. We are searching for a candidate who has a solid understanding of family law and a desire to further their career.
Legal Assistant Position Overview:
You will play a key role in assisting one of the top family law attorneys in Utah with managing legal matters, preparing documentation, and maintaining case files. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Legal Assistant Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, draft, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal forms. Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic, ensuring that they are up-to-date and accessible. Legal research and preparation for trials, hearings, and depositions. Manage attorney calendars, scheduling meetings, court dates, and other key events. E-File both State and Federal Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, providing updates and gathering necessary information. Assist in managing discovery, including document production and organization. Track case deadlines, ensuring that all critical timelines are met.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in family law Experience with filing legal documents in state and federal courts Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not necessary
