Legal Administrative Assistant (Intellectual Property) The Morton Group Phoenix, AZ 85012 Posted 10 days JO# 30229 - Legal Administrative Assistant (Intellectual Property) Are you an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant with Intellectual Property experience looking to join a collaborative, fast-paced legal team? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support attorneys in a busy Scottsdale office handling patent, trademark, and copyright matters. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys working with USPTO filings and IP processes, and takes pride in keeping complex legal work organized and moving forward.
What You'll Do:
  • Provide legal administrative support to attorneys, particularly within the Intellectual Property practice group.
  • Assist with patent, trademark, and copyright filings, including preparation and submission of documents to the USPTO.
  • Maintain IP databases, electronic files, and docketing systems to ensure deadlines are accurately tracked.
  • Coordinate and maintain attorney calendars and deadline reminders.
  • Draft and format letters, memos, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with client intake, conflict checks, and engagement letters.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, expense reports, and attorney time entry.
  • Support IP due diligence efforts and collaborate closely with attorneys and paralegals.
  • Provide general administrative support including phone coverage and scheduling.
What We're Looking For:
  • 3+ years of Intellectual Property legal support experience.
  • Experience working with USPTO databases, portals, and filing systems.
  • Knowledge of patent, trademark, and copyright application and prosecution processes (U.S. and foreign a plus).
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage a high-volume workload.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Certified Legal Secretary designation is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $70,000 - $80,000 salary range (DOE)
