- $130,000 (DOE) About the Role We are a growing medical technology company based in Carlsbad seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal to join our in-house legal team.
This role is critical in supporting corporate governance, compliance, and contract management within a fast-paced, highly regulated healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly independent, and experienced in full-cycle contract management, with a strong background supporting legal operations in a med device, biotech, or life sciences company. Key Responsibilities Corporate Governance & Compliance Support board and committee meeting preparation, including agenda materials, minutes, and board portal management Assist with compliance programs related to federal and state healthcare regulations, including: Anti-Kickback Statute HIPAA AdvaMed guidelines Manage and track required state and federal compliance filings Assist with SEC reporting, including periodic filings and Section 16 filings Support proxy statement preparation and annual stockholder meeting logistics Contract Management (Full Lifecycle) Lead the development and administration of the company's contract lifecycle management (CLM) system Build and maintain a centralized contract database and reporting structure Manage contract workflows, approvals, and execution processes (including DocuSign) Draft, review, and assist in negotiating commercial agreements, including: NDAs Master Services Agreements (MSAs) Vendor and supply agreements Serve as the primary liaison between legal, leadership, and business units on contract matters Operational & Administrative Support Partner with Finance on equity and stock administration support Provide support on intellectual property matters as needed Conduct legal research and summarize findings for internal stakeholders Maintain organized records of legal documents, filings, and corporate records Identify and implement process improvements to enhance legal team efficiency Support cross-functional legal initiatives and special projects Required Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of discretion with confidential and sensitive information Proficiency with legal and business tools, including: Contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems DocuSign or equivalent SharePoint or document management systems Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree required Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred Certified Paralegal (CP) or Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) designation is a plus Experience 7+ years of paralegal experience, including: In-house experience required At least 3+ years in a medical device, biotech, or life sciences company Strong experience with full-cycle contract management (required) Experience supporting corporate governance and compliance activities Experience with board portals and contract management systems required Familiarity with equity administration platforms is a plus Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks (FDA, HIPAA, etc.) Top Priorities for Success Full-cycle contract management expertise Exceptional attention to detail Ability to operate with a high level of independence All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
