B Kapur and Associates - 3.0 Fullerton, CA Job Details Full-time From $22 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Spanish Teamwork English Organizational skills Legal case management Full Job Description Our fast-paced immigration law firm in Fullerton, California is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support our EOIR (immigration court) litigation team. Prior experience in immigration court is preferred; however, we are willing to train a motivated candidate who demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. The ideal candidate is fluent in Spanish and interested in developing experience in immigration court procedures. Primary Responsibilities (under the supervision of Attorney/Manager or Lead Paralegal): Prepare and file immigration court documents, including asylum applications, cancellation of removal (42A/42B), motions to reopen/reconsider, bond packets, and supporting evidence Organize and compile documentation for individual hearings, master calendars, and bond hearings Draft client declarations, exhibit lists, and country conditions packets Communicate with clients to gather supporting evidence and assist with case preparation Monitor EOIR case deadlines and hearing schedules via ECAS and court notices Maintain organized physical and digital case files Translate documents and interpret for attorney meetings as needed Provide litigation support to attorneys, including hearing preparation
Qualifications:
Experience in immigration court (EOIR) matters preferred, but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate Bachelor's degree preferred Fluent in English and Spanish Excellent organization and attention to detail Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities Experience with ECAS/e-filing is a plus Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability are essential
Secondary Responsibilities:
Photocopying, scanning, and organizing case materials File retrieval and administrative support as needed
