In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and research support across a variety of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, and more. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help streamline case management, facilitate effective communication, and ensure the smooth operation of our legal services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while supporting a dedicated team committed to excellence. Responsibilities Assist with legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents. Prepare, review, and proofread legal documents including motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Manage case files and document management systems to ensure accurate filing, data entry, and retrieval of information. Support attorney with project management tasks related to criminal defense, traffic tickets, and other projects. Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as part of case preparation for criminal and traffic ticket defense matters. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining calendars, answering phones with professional etiquette, and organizing meetings. Assist in document review and submissions to Court. Qualifications Proven legal assistant or legal administrative experience in a fast-paced law office environment. Strong knowledge of various practice areas including criminal and traffic ticket defense, bankruptcy and personal injury. Excellent research skills utilizing LexisNexis; familiarity with legal research methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft outlook and WordPerfect or Word. Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; strong proofreading and transcription abilities. Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy. Effective communication skills complemented by professional phone etiquette and client-interviewing capabilities. Knowledge of procedural law requirements and legal case management practices.
