Job Description

Encino personal injury law firm is looking for a Litigation Assistant to join our team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Litigation Assistant will be carrying out various administrative assignments and will be supporting Attorneys in our litigation department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for: General office and secretarial duties (answering phones, copying, mailing, faxing, emailing, filing, and data entry) Assisting in the litigation dept with discovery Respond to and propound written discovery Obtaining medical charts Calendaring important dates -Coordinate scheduling and calendaring including court deadlines, depositions, internal deadlines, etc. Maintaining calendar of assigned active cases. Drafting legal documents and forms etc. Send deposition transcripts to clients for review and signature. Make sure we have signed signature pages back and submit to defense counsel. Request electronic copy of the transcript - the attorneys will forward it to litigation assistant when received. Make sure to save a copy of the electronic copy to the file Organize documents (i.e., briefs, pleadings, discovery, etc.) and correspondence in files Examining, preparing and processing a variety of technical legal documents, e.g., complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, and subpoenas. Providing assistance to attorneys in trial preparations. Assembling trial exhibits, affidavits, discovery in various formats, and other legal documents. Tracking filing, hearing, and trial dates, and scheduling conferences and interviews. Arranging travel by preparing itinerary and securing transportation and hotel reservations. Producing a variety of written documents and materials using a wide range of office software applications. Assembling and organizing files and records materials for disposition or transfer to records depository Will assist attorneys with case management. Assist and support multiple attorneys with all aspects of litigations (including assisting in drafting motions and pleadings, conducting legal research and factual investigations, and otherwise contributing to the overall success of litigation)

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Prior Law firm experience
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Pro, Filevine (not required but big plus)
