Full-Time About the job: Silicon Valley Law Offices (SVLO) is a Mountain View, CA based law firm serving clients in family law and estate planning matters. The firm provides experienced guidance in divorce, custody, support, and other family law issues, as well as prepares wills and revocable trusts, and estate administration, including probate. Role Description:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our growing practice in Mountain View, CA. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting attorneys through all phases of California family law matters, from initial client intake through trial preparation and case resolution. The ideal candidate is proactive, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and committed to providing exceptional client service during sensitive family law matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Support attorneys throughout all stages of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, property division, domestic violence, and post-judgment matters. Conduct client intake, maintain case files, and communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties. Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery requests and responses, financial disclosures, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. Prepare trial, mediation, and hearing binders and assist attorneys with trial preparation. Organize, review, and summarize financial records, evidence, and other case-related documents. Conduct factual and legal research to support case strategy and attorney preparation. Manage attorney calendars, monitor court deadlines, and ensure timely filings and compliance with court rules. File legal documents electronically and, when necessary, in person with California courts. Maintain accurate case management records and collaborate closely with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient workflow and outstanding client service. Qualifications Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in a California family law practice. Strong knowledge of California family law procedures, court rules, and legal terminology. Experience preparing pleadings, discovery, financial disclosures, declarations, and other family law documents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable court rules. Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, electronic court filing systems, and legal case management software; experience with Clio is a plus. Paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and commitment to maintaining strict client confidentiality. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while working independently when needed. Ability to work on-site in Mountain View, California, with occasional overtime based on client and case needs. Compensation Base salary and Bonus are dependent upon the candidate's experience and ability.
