Our practice is varied and intellectually engaging, including employment, public entity matters, education law, personal injury and premises liability, products liability, professional liability, and disability access and discrimination claims, among others. We also serve as trusted general counsel to educational institutions and as general and coverage counsel to JPAs throughout California. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Sacramento office. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys hands-on litigation work, takes pride in precision, and wants to be an integral part of a close-knit, highly experienced legal team. This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As a key member of our team, you will: Support attorneys through all phases of civil litigation, from inception through trial Prepare and manage subpoenas and maintain accurate, organized document records Review and summarize medical, employment, and other substantive records Assist with discovery responses, including document collection, production, and organization Assist with drafting pleadings and handle filings in California state and Federal courts Help ensure cases move efficiently by tracking deadlines and managing litigation details Our ideal candidate has: Prior experience as a litigation paralegal in a fast-paced law firm environment Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines with confidence Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court filing requirements A proactive, reliable team player who takes ownership of their work Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications Medical insurance (65% employer-paid for employee) Dental insurance (50% employer-paid for employee) Life and Disability insurance (100% employer-paid) Long-Term Care insurance (100% employer-paid) 401(k) retirement plan At Johnson Schachter & Lewis, paralegals are trusted professionals, not just support staff.
