Adams & Martin Group is working with a growing Bay Area law firm to identify a Family Law Legal Assistant to support its Family Law practice. This role is well suited for an experienced, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional client service while supporting attorneys with active caseloads.
Responsibilities:
Attorney & Administrative Support Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to Family Law attorneys Manage active caseloads, court deadlines, and workflow to support case progression Serve as a reliable point of contact for attorneys, assisting with day to day case management and coordination Demonstrate a proactive approach by planning ahead, anticipating needs, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time Document Preparation & Filing Prepare, proofread, and finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, declarations, subpoenas, and discovery Ensure accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with applicable court rules and filing requirements Handle efiling in state courts and coordinate service of process in accordance with deadlines Maintain strong knowledge of local county court rules and filing procedures Case & File Management Organize and maintain electronic case files, records, evidence, and supporting documentation Track case activity and provide ongoing litigation support Assist with overall case organization to ensure efficiency and accessibility Scheduling & Calendar Management Manage attorney calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, mediations, meetings, and appointments Ensure all deadlines and important dates are accurately tracked and communicated Demonstrate strong attention to detail in calendaring to prevent missed deadlines Client, Court & Internal Communication Communicate professionally with clients, courts, experts, and opposing counsel Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff Trial Preparation & Project Support Assist with trial preparation including exhibits, trial binders, mediation, and settlement conferences Support attorneys with document organization and case related projects as needed Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of Family Law legal assistant experience required Strong knowledge of local court rules and familiarity with out of county filing requirements Experience with legal software such as Clio Manage, Timeslips, Adobe, Abacus, or similar systems preferred Clio experience is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills Proactive, detail oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to getting work completed accurately and on time Work Environment Collaborative and supportive team environment within a growing Bay Area law firm Fast paced practice dedicated to providing exceptional client service Please submit your resume for confidential consideration.
