Legal Assistant

Description A growing civil litigation law firm in San Jose seeks a motivated Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. Our practice is dedicated to providing high-quality legal services and building strong client relationships, and we are looking for someone who shares that commitment. This is a great opportunity for a driven legal professional to gain hands-on litigation experience, strengthen technical skills, and work alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout all phases of the civil litigation process. + Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence. + Assist with case management, calendaring deadlines, and maintaining case files (electronic and physical). + Coordinate court filings (both e-filing and physical), service of process, and document production. + Schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings; liaise with courts, clients, and experts as needed. + Conduct basic legal research and support attorneys with trial and hearing preparation. + Manage client communications with high professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements Requirements:

+ Minimum 1 year of experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation in a law firm setting. + Proficient with California court rules and procedures; experience with local court systems is highly desired. + Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite and document management software. + Impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work on-site in San Jose. + Employment law experience or familiarity with employment law cases is a plus.
