This non-exempt role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of personal injury law and California legal procedures. Duties Prepare and edit legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court standards. Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all case materials are complete and accessible in legal case management software. Conduct legal research to support case preparation, using tools like Westlaw or LexisNexis as needed. Coordinate scheduling for hearings, depositions, and client meetings, communicating with courts and opposing counsel. Assist in trial preparation by organizing evidence, preparing exhibit lists, and compiling case summaries. Track case deadlines and ensure timely filing of court documents in compliance with California rules. Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and address basic inquiries. Summarize medical records and other case documents to assist attorneys in evaluating liability and damages. Support attorneys during court proceedings by managing documents and providing administrative assistance. Ensure compliance with ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality at all times. Experience Paralegal certificate from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in legal support, preferably in personal injury law. Familiarity with California civil litigation procedures and personal injury terminology. Skills and Qualifications Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting documents and client interactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase). Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of legal research tools and court e-filing systems. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed. Commitment to ethical legal practice and client service. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally or in writing. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision for reading and computer work. Work Environment The work environment is a professional office setting with a moderate noise level.
