Job Description

Description Litigation Legal Assistants work closely with senior-level attorneys, paralegals and other team members in managing complex litigation cases. This team player has a friendly, positive attitude and a high level of professionalism who will play a key supporting role to ensure our clients are well served.
Responsibilities:
Support of Shareholder and senior-level attorneys in a pre-litigation and litigation environment (maintain attorney calendars; scheduling of depositions, meetings, hearings, and travel; conducting client intakes, etc.) Collaborate with team attorneys, paralegals and other staff in preparation of court filings, depositions, hearings and meetings Open new client files and assist with the maintenance of large electronic and paper files Request for medical, financial, and other case-related documents and records Electronic filing in both state and federal courts of various jurisdictions Identify, calculate and calendar state and federal deadlines (docketing) Preparation of general correspondence Direct client contact
Qualifications Requirements:
3+ years of working in a litigation law firm 2+ years' experience docketing (identifying, calculating, and calendaring federal and state statutory deadlines) Experience with electronic filing in both state and federal courts and in various jurisdictions Be an exceptional listener and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Must have excellent attention to detail and be willing to take initiative
