Job Description

Position Overview We are a small, collegial, client-focused law firm located in the foothills between Golden and Evergreen. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our team. Our practice focuses primarily on estate planning, probate, trust administration, residential real estate, homeowner association matters, and small business law. We also assist clients with contract review, debt collection, general dispute resolution, and marital agreements. The ideal candidate is a conscientious, meticulous and dependable individual committed to providing exceptional client service. This position offers the opportunity to develop meaningful professional relationships with colleagues and clients while working on a variety of interesting legal matters in a collaborative, easygoing, small-firm environment. Responsibilities Client Relations & Office Support Answer and direct incoming telephone calls Greet clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner Schedule appointments and maintain attorney calendars Communicate with clients orally and in writing regarding case status, document requests, and appointments Maintain client files and ensure accurate recordkeeping Legal Document Preparation Draft legal documents under attorney supervision, including: Estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives) Probate and trust administration pleadings and correspondence Deeds and real estate transfer documents Contracts and business-related documents Court pleadings, motions, and related filings Marital agreements and related legal documents Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with attorney instructions Prepare and organize estate planning documents for signature, and participate in signing ceremonies Case & Matter Management Assist with probate and trust administration matters Coordinate document execution and notarization Prepare court filings and manage filing deadlines Track case progress and maintain matter management systems Conduct basic legal and factual research as assigned Assist attorneys with collections, dispute resolution matters, and transactional work Qualifications Required Associate or bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or in a law office environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and work independently Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and general office technology Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to exceptional client service Preferred Notary Public commission Experience working with WealthCounsel estate planning software, MyCase practice management software, and the Colorado Courts E-filing system Experience in estate planning, probate, trust administration, real estate, and/or business law Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience Lives within 20 miles of our office Location and Hours Full-time or part-time. This position will be in-person/on-site at our office. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After an initial training period, we are willing to discuss transitioning to a hybrid role. Compensation & Benefits $22-29 per hour, depending on experience.
