Full Job Description Paralegal Opportunity Overview :
Join a collaborative, small law firm representing licensed or registered healthcare professionals, including mental health providers, therapists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other professionals in regulatory, administrative, and civil defense matters. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced paralegal with at least four years of substantive litigation support experience to help manage meaningful, high-responsibility matters involving healthcare professionals, licensing boards, and confidential medical and mental health information. This role is ideal for a highly organized, self-directed professional who values interesting casework, close attorney and staff collaboration, and the opportunity to make a direct impact in a specialized practice. Experience with Colorado regulatory or administrative matters is especially valuable. What You'll Work On You will support attorneys in matters before Colorado regulatory agencies, licensing boards, state courts, and administrative tribunals, including:
  • Licensing board investigations and disciplinary matters
  • Administrative hearings, regulatory filings, and ethics-related proceedings
  • Civil litigation involving malpractice, professional negligence, subpoenas, and confidentiality issues Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and assist with drafting, proofreading, and editing pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Manage case files, deadlines, document productions, subpoenas, and filings using legal case management systems.
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical, mental health, and treatment records for litigation and administrative matters.
  • Support licensing board responses, investigations, hearings, and trial preparation, including exhibits and hearing materials.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, experts, courts, opposing counsel, and regulatory agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality. Core Skills
  • Strong legal research, drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Experience with case management tools such as MyCase, Clio, and legal research platforms including Westlaw
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Professional communication skills and sound judgment in handling confidential information Knowledge & Proficiency The position requires familiarity with, or the ability to quickly develop proficiency in: Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and the administration rules.

  • Paralegal certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least four years of paralegal experience, including substantive litigation support
  • Excellent drafting, proofreading, calendaring, and case management skills
  • Experience handling confidential healthcare or mental health information
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a collaborative small-firm environment Preferred Background
  • Healthcare, professional liability, or administrative defense experience
  • Licensing board or Colorado administrative law experience
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and mental health confidentiality requirements
