Legal Assistant/Paralegal Mertes Law Longmont, CO Job Details Part-time | Full-time $20 - $30 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Microsoft Word Civil litigation support Customer service Client file management English Microsoft Office Attention to detail Typing Personal injury litigation support E-filing court documents Full Job Description Seeking legal assistant/paralegal, 30-40 hours/week Customer-service oriented, computer-savvy legal assistant/paralegal sought for small, fast-paced law office in Longmont, Colorado. Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience working in a law office is preferred.
Characteristics of the successful applicant:
  • Pleasant, professional phone demeanor, excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, and Xcel. Good typing skills.
  • Reliable, resourceful, and possessing the capability to maintain client confidentiality
  • Positive, energetic, willing to learn new skills and "take ownership" of tasks and processes
  • Comfortable with multiline phone systems
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to self-start, ask questions, take direction, and multi-task assignments
  • Ability to follow through and follow up on tasks
  • Ability and desire to learn and master new software programs
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Must have reliable transportation to consistently ensure prompt arrival at work
  • Qualified Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Telephone answering and office support duties for busy attorney
  • Management of client cases in legal software program
  • E-filing into Colorado Courts system
  • Ordering records, scanning documents, maintaining electronic and hard-copy client files
  • Performing a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks
  • Tracking/billing one's own time
  • Assist with special projects We are a substance-free workplace.
Background checks and screenings are a part of the application process. The successful applicant will start with a three-month probationary period and an hourly pay rate between $24-30 depending upon experience. Office hours are Monday- Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with occasional after-hours work required.
