Family Law Paralegal Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our growing legal team in Miami-Dade County. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling family law matters and be capable of managing cases from inception through trial. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Responsibilities Assist attorneys in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, paternity, child support, timesharing, relocation, domestic violence injunctions, modifications, and enforcement actions. Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, notices, financial affidavits, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and proposed orders. Manage case files and maintain accurate records through case management software. Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, consultations, and court appearances. Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and other third parties. Review and organize financial documents, bank statements, tax returns, business records, and other supporting evidence. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, trial notebooks, and document management. Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms. Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules, local procedures, and attorney directives. Prepare correspondence, maintain calendars, and provide administrative support as needed. Handle client intake, document collection, and ongoing case updates while maintaining strict confidentiality. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of family law paralegal experience required; experience in Florida family law strongly preferred. Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of Florida Family Law Rules of Procedure and Miami-Dade County court procedures. Experience drafting family law pleadings, financial affidavits, mandatory disclosures, and discovery documents. Proficiency with legal case management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and e-filing systems. Experience using legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with complex family law litigation and high-conflict custody matters. Familiarity with Clio, MyCase, or similar legal management platforms.
