CRIMINAL/CIVIL LAW PARALEGAL
Full time | Exempt | Onsite | $65,000 - $119,000 | Fort Lauderdale, FL A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an experienced Criminal/Civil Law Paralegal with strong Florida litigation experience to support our growing Fort Lauderdale team. In this full‑time, on‑site role, you'll support attorneys handling criminal defense, civil litigation, and related matters. You'll manage essential paralegal functions, keep cases moving efficiently, and contribute to a team that values precision, collaboration, and long‑term growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Document Preparation & Filing Draft, prepare, and revise litigation documents, including: criminal defense pleadings (motions to suppress, motions to dismiss, discovery demands, notices, subpoenas), civil litigation pleadings (complaints, answers, affirmative defenses, motions, notices, discovery requests/responses), pre‑trial statements, witness lists, exhibit lists, and proposed orders, and assist with drafting chronologies, case summaries, and evidence logs Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation by preparing summaries of depositions, discovery materials (police reports, body-cam footage, medical records, financial records, expert materials etc), organizing exhibits, trial binders, and supporting materials utilizing polished and completed document sets and maintaining organized digital and physical case files. Use legal technology tools such as Clio and Lexis Nexis to support case progress. Communication & Coordination Communicate with clients to gather information, collect required documents, provide clear and timely updates throughout their case, help them understand procedural steps, and ensure they feel supported and informed Track case deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates, and coordinate with investigators, experts, and third‑party vendors as needed File documents with state and federal courts and coordinate service of process, witness scheduling, and logistics
WHAT YOU BRING
Florida Criminal and/or Civil Litigation Paralegal experience Completion of an ABA‑approved paralegal program Strong command of legal research tools, Microsoft Office, and case management systems Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time‑management skills A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset and the ability to work independently Strong communication skills and a client‑focused approach Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in sensitive matters Preferred Bachelor's degree in Law or related field Experience supporting attorneys through trial Familiarity with both state and federal court procedures If this opportunity intrigues you and you're seeking a meaningful role in a litigation‑focused environment, we'd love to speak with you!
