Job Description

We are full-service personal injury and workers' compensation law firm.
MUST HAVE WORKERS COMP EXPERIENCE TO APPLY
Dedicated to serving the local injured residents and families of Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding communities of South Florida, we have been guiding our clients through these difficult times for more than 40 years. we are seeking a Workers Compensation Paralegal/Legal Assistant. The ideal applicant would have 4+ years of workers' compensation legal assistant and/or paralegal experience. Please applicants with experience in Worker's Compensation only apply. The firm provides a great working environment and will pay the right candidate accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS
Legal assistant/paralegal must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to type 50- 60 wpm, and it would be an advantage if you have working knowledge of Client Profiles/Aderant or a similar case management system. This candidate must be eager to work with very busy attorneys, be self-motivated, and have a great attitude. Ability to handle high volume practice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of pleadings including, but not limited to, motions, subpoenas, notices, hearings, and requests for production. Coordination/scheduling of meetings, hearings, appointments, and depositions. Managing deadlines, preparing attorneys for appointments. Drafting and composing typing routine correspondence, reading and routing of incoming mail, taking calls from clients, attorneys, adjusters, J.A.'s, opposing counsel, etc. Excellent organizational, secretarial and clerical skills (telephone & computer) required. Three years minimum experience. Experience with Aderant/Client Profiles programs preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred, however not required. Organized, self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with a great attitude. Good communication and customer service skills (must be professional and courteous). Work Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 1-hour break for lunch.
