Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a punctual, dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our legal team. In this vital role, you will support a wide range of legal functions focusing primarily on family law, inclusive of divorce, child custody, adoption, dependency, probate and estate planning. Paralegal support to one (1) Attorney. Must have strong organizational skills, knowledge of legal case management, document review, and research activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, professional in appearance and behavior, and experienced in handling family law matters from intake through final hearing. Responsibilities Draft pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, discovery, financial affidavits, and proposed orders Assist attorneys with case management and trial preparation Maintain and organize electronic case files Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, judicial assistants, and court staff Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings through the Florida e-Filing Portal Prepare and review mandatory disclosure and discovery documents Assist with child support calculations and financial document organization Prepare equitable distribution plans Manage attorney calendars and case progress Assist attorneys with legal research using legal research tools to support case development and strategy. Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as needed to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases or investigations. Assist with client communication and provide executive administrative support to attorneys as required. Qualifications Minimum [2+] years of family law paralegal experience preferred, open to consideration of other legal experience Familiarity with Florida family law procedures and court rules Experience with Florida e-Filing system Strong drafting and proofreading skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills Notary Public preferred but not required Preferred Skills Experience preparing trial binders and exhibit lists Experience preparing discovery responses and auditing discovery received Familiarity with Timesharing Guidelines and Family Law Financial Affidavits Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience in high-conflict custody or post-judgment litigation matters is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Paid time off and holidays Supportive and professional work environment Flexibility with proven dependability
