We are seeking two experienced Paralegals to join our growing team: one to support our Criminal Defense practice and one to support our Civil/Civil Rights and Employment Law practice. •Please indicate in your application which position you are applying for• Position Summary Depending on the position, the successful candidate will work closely with our attorneys to manage criminal or civil cases from intake through trial or resolution. The ideal candidate is passionate about community impact, highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing a busy caseload while providing exceptional client service. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, legal research experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in case preparation, document management, client communication, and ensuring cases move efficiently through every stage of litigation. Depending on your assigned practice area, responsibilities may include: Independently manage a high-volume caseload from intake through resolution or trial. Draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, legal correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents. Review, organize, index, and summarize discovery for attorney review and trial preparation. Prepare and electronically file pleadings and other court documents in state and federal courts, as applicable. Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, client meetings, and attorney calendars while monitoring all deadlines. Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, witness files, subpoenas, and courtroom materials. Maintain accurate and organized case files in Clio Manage. Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, witnesses, and government agencies. Request and organize client documents while providing timely case updates. Proactively anticipate attorney needs and ensure cases continue moving efficiently.
Criminal Defense Paralegal Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience with: Felony and misdemeanor criminal defense Criminal discovery Trial preparation Motion drafting Warrants, indictments, accusations, booking records Georgia and South Carolina courts preferred Clio Manage preferred
Civil Paralegal Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience with: Civil litigation from filing through trial State and federal court litigation Discovery Depositions Civil Rights and Employment Law preferred Electronic filing Clio Manage preferred Why Join Jeffords Restorative Justice Law Group?
