Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION DBL
Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our team in Covington, Kentucky. The ideal candidate should be equipped with the knowledge and expertise to support all members (attorneys and paralegals) of a variety of practice groups. They are essential to the success of our team and our firm. All DBL employees operate under a 'client first' philosophy, in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our client.
JOB DUTIES
Schedule all internal and client appointments. Schedule meetings, deposition preparation and trial appearances with expert witnesses. Do all dictation, organize files, typing, filing, copying and scanning. Draft and proof various documents. Track CLE credits for attorneys. Track information related to Boards and Committees for attorneys. Manage the calendar for attorneys and paralegals. Perform typing, filing, copying, and scanning of documents. E-file documents in federal and state court. Prepare Engagement and Preservation of Evidence Letters. Organize and Bates stamp voluminous discovery. Serve as a witness on wills and notarize documents. Other duties and special projects as needed and assigned.
COMPETENCY AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
An Associates Degree in Business Administration or similar is preferred. Experience in the legal profession or professional services company is required. Excellent professional communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format, and content. Ability to understand complexities and can systematically solve issues related to responsibilities. Able to work in a matrixed environment and complete work when assigned from multiple teams. Maintains firm and client confidentiality. Able to work independently and see a task through to completion. Ability to utilize computerized accounting/time & billing software programs (LMS, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities. The above list is not intended to be exclusive.
