This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of legal tasks, from case management and legal research to document preparation and client communication. We are committed to fostering a collaborative environment that values meticulous work, organizational excellence, and proactive problem-solving. As a paid position, this role provides valuable experience in criminal law while contributing to the pursuit of justice. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with case preparation by organizing and managing legal documents, evidence, and client files using document management systems such as iManage and Clio. Conduct comprehensive legal research across areas including criminal law, estate planning, environmental law, family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, and personal injury law using Westlaw and LexisNexis. Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Perform thorough document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy and consistency in all legal materials. Interview clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information for case development while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Support litigation processes through data entry, filing, and maintaining case files in compliance with court procedures. Coordinate with internal teams on project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives. Experience Paralegal experience in a law office setting with exposure to criminal defense or related practice areas preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy levels. Proficiency in legal administrative software such as PCLaw, iManage, Westlaw, LexisNexis, Clio, and document management systems. Demonstrated research skills across various legal disciplines including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, and personal injury law. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading and transcription experience is highly valued. Experience with legal case management systems and data entry tasks essential for efficient workflow support. Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette; ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
