Job Description

As a Legal Assistant, you will support attorneys in various legal tasks, ensuring efficient case management and document handling. Your core skills in litigation support, and document review will be essential in preparing cases and maintaining organized files. With a focus on communication and customer service, you will contribute to a collaborative law office environment, helping to deliver high-quality legal services to clients. Responsibilities Organize cases by establishing and organizing files Develop cases by scheduling depositions, finalizing discovery, reports, panel submissions, and professional correspondence, and preparing and serving discovery requests Manage cases by assembling materials for depositions and mediation conferences, scheduling mediation conferences and hearings, drafting basic pleadings, initiating and maintaining contact with adjusters and opposing counsel, and preparing medical, billing, insurance, and tax requests Support trial proceedings by organizing evidence and exhibits, scheduling witnesses, and ensuring that witnesses arrive as scheduled Conduct proofreading of legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards Accomplish law firm mission by completing related tasks as needed Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times Qualifications Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role is preferred Familiarity with Indiana and/or Illinois law is a plus Experience with document management systems is highly desirable A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team If you are passionate about the legal field and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Pay:
From $35,000.00 per year Salary commensurate with experience.

Experience:
Legal office: 2 years (Preferred)
Microsoft Office:
2 years (Preferred)
Customer Service:
1 year (Preferred) Experience working with multiple lawyers simultaneously (Preferred) Experience in preparation of litigation documents (Preferred) Knowledge of online court filing systems (Preferred) Prior legal experience in Indiana (Preferred)
