In this vital role, you will assist clients in navigating the complex process of applying for and maintaining Social Security Disability benefits. Your expertise will help ensure clients receive the support they need by managing case documentation, conducting thorough research, and providing clear guidance throughout the application and appeals process. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities while working within a dynamic legal environment. Responsibilities Manage and review client case files related to Social Security Disability claims, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation Conduct legal research on relevant laws, including federal regulations, disability law, and related legal areas such as Workers' Compensation law and Personal Injury law Assist clients with preparing necessary paperwork, including medical records, employment history, and supporting documentation for disability claims Communicate effectively with clients through interviews, phone calls, and written correspondence to gather information and explain procedural steps Collaborate with legal professionals to develop strategies for appeals or hearings when claims are denied or contested Utilize legal case management systems such as iManage, LexisNexis, Westlaw, and PCLaw to organize case data and track progress Review legal documents for accuracy, proofread reports, and assist in drafting correspondence or legal summaries related to disability cases Requirements Paralegal experience or prior work in a law office setting with exposure to legal research and document management systems Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Excellent interviewing skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for client interactions Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or iManage; experience with document review and legal drafting is preferred Knowledge of federal laws related to Social Security Disability benefits; experience in related areas like Workers' Compensation law or Personal Injury law is a plus Proficiency in data entry, file management, and clerical tasks using document management systems and electronic filing platforms Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy and professionalism This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others navigate complex legal processes while leveraging their knowledge of various law disciplines.
