Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across a variety of practice areas, ensuring smooth operations and efficient case management. Your energetic approach and meticulous attention to detail will help facilitate legal research, document preparation, and client communication, contributing to the overall success of our legal services. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while supporting a collaborative and fast-paced law office environment. Responsibilities Assist with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, and other legal research tools to support case preparation and strategy. Draft, review, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity. Manage case files and document management systems efficiently, ensuring accurate filing, data entry, and document review. Support attorneys with project management tasks related to estate planning, environmental law, litigation, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, and UCC law. Conduct thorough legal research on various topics including legal precedents and regulatory updates to inform case strategies. Coordinate client interviews by preparing questions and documenting responses accurately for case development. Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, handling phone inquiries with professional etiquette, and organizing files for easy retrieval. Skills Strong knowledge of diverse legal practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, UCC law. Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with iManage is a plus. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; strong proofreading and transcription abilities. Familiarity with legal case management systems and document review processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with project management tools; ability to coordinate tasks across different practice areas effectively. Exceptional clerical skills including data entry, filing systems management, phone etiquette, and administrative support.
