Job Description

A well-established plaintiff-side law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its busy personal injury practice. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, staying organized in a fast-moving environment, and supporting attorneys through both pre-suit and litigation stages of a case. The ideal candidate will have prior plaintiff personal injury experience and be comfortable handling files from intake through active litigation, including client communication, medical records, deadlines, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation support.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with plaintiff personal injury matters from pre-suit through litigation Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and court personnel Open and maintain case files, track deadlines, and keep matters organized Request, review, and organize medical records, bills, liens, and related case documents Draft and prepare correspondence, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, notices, and other legal documents Assist with demand packages and pre-suit case preparation Calendar deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings Coordinate discovery responses, document production, and litigation materials Support attorneys with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation Maintain accurate notes and updates in the case management system
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a legal assistant, preferably in plaintiff personal injury Experience with both pre-suit and litigation matters strongly preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable communicating with clients and third parties throughout the life of a case Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a busy legal environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management/document management systems Professional, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team #IND3
