We are seeking a real estate paralegal to join our office on a part‑time basis. This position is ideal for someone with real estate experience who is comfortable managing residential transactions and is interested in building a long‑term working relationship with a small, professional law firm. The Position The primary focus of this role is residential real estate work, managing files from pre‑closing through post‑closing. The position will also involve limited general legal secretarial tasks such as answering phones and preparing routine documents for filing with the Court. No prior experience is required for these general support duties. The firm values collaboration, open communication, and mutual support within a small office environment. Responsibilities Real Estate Paralegal Duties (Primary): Manage residential real estate transactions from pre‑closing through post‑closing Prepare and review pre‑ and post‑closing documents Draft buyer and seller Closing Disclosures and ALTA settlement statements Review and manage title commitments and title abstracts Order and track titles, municipal lien certificates, plot plans, and related documents Coordinate and schedule closings Communicate with lenders, real estate agents, municipalities, and clients Maintain organized and accurate files and ensure deadlines are met General Legal/Secretarial Support (Secondary): Answer and route phone calls Prepare routine documents for filing with the Court Provide administrative support to the office Qualifications Prior experience with residential real estate closings is required Strong organizational and time‑management skills with close attention to detail Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word Associate's degree or paralegal certificate preferred Work Environment & Firm Culture Our practice is steady and deadline‑driven, as is typical in real estate law, but we value professionalism, reliability, and efficiency over unnecessary pressure. This role is best suited for someone who appreciates consistency and stability within a small office setting.
