Job Overview:
Family Law Legal Assistant Seeking an organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to manage daily operations and client communications for a boutique family law practice. This role focuses on administrative support, client intake, calendaring, and case coordination. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, sharp attention to detail, and a strong ability to keep a fast-paced office running smoothly. The right candidate will receive a period dedicated to training by the out-going assistant. Key Responsibilities Perform prescreening of potential clients through the firm's intake process. Draft, file, serve and track general pleadings and documents/correspondence. Docket case schedules, hearings, mediations, depositions and track critical deadlines. Assist Attorney in drafting initial pleadings, motion paperwork, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs), witness/exhibit lists, Interrogatories, Requests for Production and other case related pleadings and/or correspondence. Assemble motion documents, exhibits, and trial notebooks. Draft Interrogatories and Requests for Production; prepare, assemble, and arrange for delivery of discovery responses. Review answers to Interrogatories and Requests for Production for deficiencies and prepare memorandums and correspondence regarding same. Process incoming cases and set up new matters in Clio (e.g., document review and management, scheduling deadlines, and follow-ups, etc.). Communicate with clients, lawyers, administrative staff, and court personnel. Proactively monitor case workflow and client file status reports and related deadlines. Compile and file documents electronically. Close files in accordance with the firm's policy. General administrative support to attorney. Other administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications High level of organization and attention to detail. Prior experience as a legal assistant or in a high-level administrative role (family law experience preferred). Proficiency with court filing systems, and office management tools including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Outstanding communication skills and a high level of discretion.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
