Job Description
Hybrid Paralegal / Case Manager Andriacchi Law is seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive Paralegal / Case Manager to help move active cases forward and support attorneys in a busy, growing Upper Peninsula law practice. This is an important role for someone who enjoys keeping cases organized, communicating with clients, tracking deadlines, preparing documents, and making sure files do not sit idle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with attorneys and clients, and able to manage multiple active matters at once. Our firm handles matters including personal injury, criminal defense, civil litigation, real estate, probate, and business law. Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider candidates with strong organizational skills, professional communication ability, and a willingness to learn. This role may be structured as hybrid after initial training. Some in-office work will be required for client-facing tasks, file coordination, attorney support, and office procedures. A portion of the work may be performed remotely depending on experience, reliability, and firm needs. Responsibilities The Paralegal / Case Manager will help attorneys and staff keep cases moving from intake through resolution.
Responsibilities may include:
Maintaining case status and next-action tracking for assigned files Communicating with clients regarding case updates, documents, appointments, and outstanding information Requesting and following up on medical records, police reports, discovery, court documents, and other records Drafting and preparing routine correspondence, pleadings, discovery, notices, subpoenas, and other legal documents under attorney supervision Assisting with personal injury, criminal defense, civil litigation, probate, real estate, and business matters Organizing digital and physical case files Monitoring deadlines and follow-up dates Preparing materials for hearings, meetings, negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation Coordinating with courts, opposing counsel, prosecutors, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and clients Helping identify stalled files and pushing them toward the next step Preparing case summaries, chronologies, document lists, and status reports Supporting attorneys with administrative and case-management tasks as needed Qualifications Preferred qualifications: Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, case manager, legal secretary, or similar law office role Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and follow-ups Comfort speaking with clients in a professional and compassionate manner Ability to work independently after instruction Strong computer skills and comfort working with digital files Dependability, discretion, and professionalism Willingness to learn firm procedures and follow established workflows Helpful but not required: Experience with personal injury, criminal defense, civil litigation, probate, or real estate matters Experience with legal drafting Experience requesting medical records or handling discovery Experience with law firm practice-management software Notary commission or willingness to become a notary Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who does not simply wait for assignments, but actively helps keep cases moving. This person should be able to look at a file, identify what is missing, follow up, communicate clearly, and help attorneys stay ahead of deadlines.
