Job Description

Header Overview Join Jack A. Weinstein P.C. as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal, where your expertise will drive the success of complex legal projects across diverse practice areas. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support Jack with legal research, document management, and case preparation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Your proactive approach and meticulous attention to detail will help ensure smooth operations and exceptional client service. Duties Conduct comprehensive legal research using Jubilee Bankruptcy Software, GIS systems, Microsoft tools, and other legal research tools to support case strategies across various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, litigation, and more. Assist in drafting, proofreading, and editing legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity. Manage legal case files using PACER, NDC, , ensuring all records are organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, relevance, and completeness; perform detailed document review for litigation and transactional matters. Support attorneys with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, scheduling client interviews or meetings, and maintaining calendars. Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses to gather relevant information for cases involving family law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, or tribal regulations. Assist with project management tasks to coordinate multiple cases simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and quality standards. Skills Proven experience in paralegal duties within a law office environment; familiarity with legal administrative processes is essential. Strong knowledge of diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), Bankruptcy chapters 7 and 13, landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and litigation procedures. Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy. Patience is required as proof reading may take several drafts. Knowledge on taxes and how to file 941s. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently; experience in project management is a plus. Superior clerical skills including data entry, filing systems (both physical and electronic), phone etiquette, and administrative support functions. Training provided for the right talent.
