This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys supporting attorneys through all phases of the collections process. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing case documentation, court filings, client communications, and case status updates while contributing to the overall success of a collaborative legal team.

Contract-to-Hire Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and process pleadings, writs, correspondence, motions, agreements, and other legal documents. File pleadings and legal documents electronically and by mail with courts and agencies. Review court and clerk websites to obtain case status information and updates. Communicate with court personnel regarding case status, hearing schedules, and informational requests. Schedule hearings and maintain attorney and department calendars. Maintain accurate and current case information within case management and client systems. Provide case updates to clients through designated client systems and email communications. Communicate professionally with clients, defendants, and opposing counsel regarding case status and settlement matters. Handle inbound and outbound calls in accordance with firm policies and procedures. Support attorneys and management with administrative and legal support needs across a multi-state practice. Assist with mortgage default matters and special projects as needed. Perform general clerical and administrative duties. Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in collections, legal support, or a related legal environment; Associate degree or higher preferred. Experience preparing legal documents, court filings, and case management activities. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume workload accurately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn and navigate court filing systems, including TrueFiling and MiFILE. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment. All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.
